Musika and Parties
Around the age of 20 I started to mix records and began Djing at various free parties around the country. I soon became involved in organising events together with a group of friends. We built a sound system and are still operating under the name of Slack Banta.
I also organised themed events at the warehouse in London choosing live bands and performers to play within the strangely decorated surroundings. These eclectic events were extremely popular and has given me food for thought in organising events more often. Along with Nina and the Slack Banta sound system we set up Dance 4 Tibet and organised events for the Tibetan plight for freedom . Building on connections made in the North of India we put on events in Norwich, Cambridge and London and sent the proceeds to Orphanages and Ex-political prisoner rehabilitation centres.
This is a 70min mix that you can download and listen to. I recorded it during the PDC at The Patch. I call it ethnotronic as it’s a mixture of worldly samples and chilled out beats with a few surprises of course.
I began making my own music in an experimental and explorative way around 2004ish. Here for your listening pleasure are a few tunes that I have made over the years using Ableton Live
Afrotek
Light Persists
GeTup
China Is Lying
